The acclaimed Los Angeles quintet SML brings a hypnotic mix of jazz, groove, electronics, and improvisation to the Lexington stage. Featuring Anna Butterss (bass), Jeremiah Chiu (synthesizers/live sampling), Josh Johnson (saxophone/electronics), Booker Stardrum (drums/percussion), and Gregory Uhlmann (guitar/effects), the group creates immersive music that unfolds in real time. Individually, SML’s members have performed with artists including Phoebe Bridgers, Jeff Parker, Meshell Ndegeocello, Flea, and Jason Isbell. 

SML’s two acclaimed albums, Small Medium Large and HOW YOU BEEN, have earned numerous year-end honors and an in-depth feature in The New York Times. Following a three-night residency at Big Ears Festival, the band brings its evolving live sound to Lexington, creating immersive soundscapes that unfold in real time—kaleidoscopic, adventurous, and always in motion.
