Casa de la Cultura de Kentucky in partnership with Blue Grass Community Foundation and Press Forward Blue Grass are bringing together leaders from academia, advocacy, law, and the arts to examine the economic and political forces behind Latin American migration and the narratives shaping public perception.
The panel features Monica Calleja, Founder Director of Casa de la Cultura Hispana de Lexington, Dr. Fátima Espinoza Vásquez, assistant professor in the School of Information Science at the University of Kentucky, Mizari Suarez, Executive Director of the Neighbors Immigration Clinic, and Dr. Carlos Gustavo Poggio, associate professor of Political Science at Berea College. Moderated by Nathalie Cunningham, Outreach Director of KYPolicy. Together, they will address integration, cultural identity, public discourse, and the legal limitations surrounding immigration reform.
This event offers an important opportunity for community members, students, and policymakers to engage in thoughtful discussion on one of the most pressing issues of our time.
