Join us on Thursday, April 18th at 7pm for a captivating journey through the heart of Kentucky’s labor landscape with James Robert Southard, a Lexington artist featured in our current exhibition, ‘Labor & Materials’ and UK Senior Lecturer. From Trigg to Letcher County, Southard has been on a 4-year journey, immersing himself in communities to amplify the challenges they face. Join us as he unveils the narratives behind his documentary photography project – The Kentuckian – from the flooding of eastern Kentucky and the hemp bust of western Kentucky, to the National Guard training camps in the woods and the minor league wrestling matches of Louisville.
