Lexington Civic Artist-in-Residence Program

The City of Lexington and Civic Lex are partnering to create a Civic Artist-in-Residence program. Following an application and interview process, three artists will be selected for paid, part-time positions working with three city departments. Artists will work an average of 15 hours per week collaborating with city staff and the community.

The program will create new approaches for how the city engages with the public and will encourage projects that bring marginalized community voices into city decision making and find creative solutions to problems or "stuck" aspects of how the city works. The program will also benefit city government by celebrating city employees' labor and help departments communicate more effectively.
