7:00pm - 10:00pm EDT
Admission Fee: none (artist donations appreciated)

Next up in the OTS series we're exploring new genres of improvised music with an evening of solo banjo performances. We know it's not just jazz that you enjoy from us - it's the acts of spontaneous creation that make Outside the Spotlight shows so excitingly original. Come see what these folks can do with 5 strings and a lot of imagination.

Kelby Clark is a composer and improvisor from South Georgia, currently located in Nashville, TN. His 2024 release, "Towards the Realities," features four improvisations ranging from delicate fingerpicking to thick acoustic walls of sound.

Mason Colby is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from the Gulf Coast, now living and making music in Lexington. He'll be stepping away from his band and repertoire for a special improvised performance.

Thanks to Institute 193 for providing the venue for this gathering. Be sure to check out the current exhibition on Mary T. Smith while you're at the gig.

Donations at the door go to the performers - thank you for your generosity! All ages are welcome.
