VOICES AMPLIFIED PRESENTS “ROSE’S TURN: A CABARET FOR WOMEN OF A CERTAIN AGE: NOVEMBER 20-23, 2025

Voices Amplified, a collective dedicated to empowering artists and creating equitable spaces in arts education and theater performance, is proud to present "Rose’s Turn." Conceived by Voices Amplified's Executive Artistic Director, Vanessa Becker Weig, and developed with the help of Jill Campbell, Patrick Lee Lucas, and Patricia Muillins, this inspiring cabaret blends musical theatre and sketch comedy. The performance challenges perceptions and celebrates the complex, vibrant, and dynamic stories of women over the age of 40.

The lineup features these powerhouse women from the community: Amy Harper, Courtney Reed, Jennifer Roth, Jessica Greene, Laura Mancuso, Missy Johnston, Rachel Shane, Rebecca Blair, Suraya Shalash, and Vanessa Becker Weig, along with special guests Patrick Lee Lucas and Ayla Nelson.

“When women of a certain age take the stage, they are often cast in marginal roles: a doting mother, a miserable wife, a nasty woman, or a comedic sidekick. Executive Artistic Director, Vanessa Becker Weig states,  In 'Rose's Turn, we celebrate these roles while challenging our audience to perceive us as more than just that.”
