Virtual pre-show auditions - Ballet Under the Stars

We are hopeful we will be able to hold Ballet Under the Stars as scheduled. However, it remains to be seen what reopening phase we will be in regarding mass gatherings and social distancing recommendations in August. We are preparing as though it’s happening, knowing there are no guarantees or that it may look very different from how we usually do things. We are working on numerous program adaptations and contingency plans in the event we can offer the program with restrictions.

With that in mind, this year we will be holding virtual auditions. This year's pre-show theme is Princess Vignettes II. This year is the 31st anniversary for Ballet Under the Stars, a show that has become one of central Kentucky’s most beloved events. This year’s pre-show production will be Princess Vignettes II and will be held at Woodland Park in Lexington, July 30- August 2.

The pre-show is a wonderful chance for young dancers from all area dance schools to come together in Kentucky’s premier outdoor ballet event. This is truly a community production and an excellent opportunity to showcase the young talent of central Kentucky as well as the quality of dance instruction available to our area’s youth. In addition, all of the dance schools represented by pre-show participants will receive promotions throughout the event as each child’s name and place of instruction will be included in the program.
