This movement workshop is a participatory lecture-performance exploring grafting as a practice of care, hybridity, injury, and survival. Willing participants are temporarily “grafted” to young saplings with medical gauze, forming an ambulatory grove that moves slowly through the space alongside live writing, speech, and documentation. The work invites queer community members—including farmers, dancers, arborists, forest stewards, gardeners, and tree enthusiasts—to consider what it might mean to share the weight, vulnerability, and resilience of living things across bodies and species. Together, we will transform the act of carrying a tree into a collective gesture of mutual aid, queer kinship, and artistic resistance.
note: this workshop will be documented for creative/archival purposes
