Movement Continuum Presents "The Life Cycle of a Valkyrie"

Tickets will be available beginning Friday, November 6th!

This November, Movement Continuum will premiere its 20th original work with a cast of 15 dancers.  "The Life Cycle of a Valkyrie" explores the lineage of storytelling, secret keeping and history holding that cocoons itself within matrilineal descent.  Excavating a Kentucky grandmother's memory, Movement Continuum uses her experience to build intergenerational bridges of understanding, spotlighting the resilience it takes spanning decades to cut paths for our daughters.  All of it modeling the division, replication and wholeness of love.

Through the unexpected research amalgam of Norse mythology, biological process of mitosis and pursuit of ancestral discovery, MC follows memory and perception while leaving space for the weight sharing question: did my grandmother carry my stories, or do I now carry hers? "The Life Cycle of a Valkyrie" was made for our grandmothers, honoring every path they walked, every loop they made around the house and every time they divided themselves to make all of us more whole through their love.
