From Cincinnati, Ohio, Chris Comer, jazz pianist and composer, called the first CC3 recording session while all the gigs were cancelled during COVID lockdowns. Assembling the most creative musicians Chris knew, the CC3 began working on original compositions and exploratory improvisations that were neither jazz nor rock but a mash up of everything the three musicians did best.

Inspired originally by downtown NYC artists like Naked City and Last Exit, Zorn, Laswell, Frith and company, as well as classic Brian Eno and electric Miles Davis, Chris Comer and Bart Foster have been improvising in various groups since the 1980s. The Chris Comer Fender Rhodes sound is unique among keyboardists, using a variety of pedalboard effects and sounding sometimes like spaceships. From Perrysburg, Ohio, Bart Foster’s musical journey has led from punk rock bands to modern jazz and brings the rhythm that propels the musical spaceship. Add Michael Ronstadt from Tucson Arizona - a genius Cellist who goes beyond the limits of the instrument.

For OTS #232, the CC3 will perform select original compositions (including brand new material), and debut a new set of improvised music called MUSIC FOR SPACESHIPS.

The CC3 is The Chris Comer Trio:

Chris Comer on Fender Rhodes Electric Piano
