Saturday, June 17th
8:30am - 1:00pm EDT

The Kentucky River Clean Sweep is a volunteer effort to clean up the 12-mile piece of the Kentucky River that touches Fayette County. We are cleaning up this tributary of the Ohio River with many other volunteers in Kentucky and neighboring states.

Volunteers are needed to help clean up the river all morning. Breakfast, lunch and t-shirts will be provided for volunteers.

Wear sturdy shoes or boots and clothing that can get wet. If you have a life jacket, please bring it with you.

Volunteers should arrive before 10am to ensure time to go out on a boat.

If you are using GPS to locate the River Sweep, use the address 9079 Old Richmond Road, Lexington, KY 40515. There will be signs to direct you to the parking area.

We are especially in need of boats, so if you or a friend can bring a boat, that would be a great help. Contact jmyatt@lexingtonky.gov if you are bringing a boat and have space for additional volunteers.

All volunteers must sign a waiver to participate. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Waivers will be available on site.
