Kentucky Meat Shower Festival

The Kentucky Meat Shower Festival in Owingsville, Kentucky is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the 1876 Kentucky Meat Shower. A Mystery Meat Chili Cookoff, a Baloney Throw, competitive Hot Dog eating and other contests take place on Main Street, surrounded by vendors and food trucks. A sample of the 1876 meat rain will be on view at the museum and Lexington artist, Kurt Gohde will cause it to rain meat again at 4:00 pm, 150 years after the first Kentucky Shower.
