Printmaking historically is referred to as the democratic medium. In this Introduction to Printmaking course at the GRAC, we will cover beginner printmaking techniques such as relief printing and monotype printing, as well as how the two techniques can be used cohesively. In addition, we will explore how these mediums historically have allowed for the dissemination of information, which has proven to be critical in giving humans a voice for change. Students in this course will carve linoleum blocks, use a printing press, and other materials to create their pieces.
