Jared Hamilton: Pine Mountain Views

artfarm is proud to present Pine Mountain Views, a new body of work by Jared Hamilton—an Appalachian born documentary style photographer and videographer currently residing in Whitesburg, KY. Hamilton's work has been featured by NPR, Inside Climate News, and the New York Times among other outlets.

Please join us for an opening reception on Friday, March 27 at 7 PM with musical guests John Harrod & Tona Barkley. Snack and light refreshments will be served.

Wiley's Last Resort sits on top of the 2nd-highest mountain in the state of Kentucky, Pine Mountain. WLR is known for its whimsical and rustic charm. It is a primitive campground at the end of the W-H-I-R-L-E-D! Jared Hamilton calls the resort home for much of the year. Some would say, "He summers in Whitesburg." Pine Mountain is a wonderland for those who aren't afraid of a splinter or a couple of ticks. From some of the most beautiful sunsets to some of the darkest and most wide-open night skies in the region, this place is heaven. It isn't hard to convince one that they are in heaven when you are looking down on the clouds of fog in the valleys at sunrise. Wiley's is known for some wild nights, but it is the quiet beauty of daily life that many will never know that keeps me around.
