WRITING IN SERIES
Sometimes the topics we tackle in our poetry are bigger than the individual poems. Sometimes we write dozens of poems that seem to be related to one another and are part of a larger story. We want to look at a person or an event from different angles, at different stages, talk about it with different voices, etc. IMHO the three important components of writing are instinct, technique and obsession. In this session we will discuss harnessing the creative power of our obsessions to write books. How to make it work? Signs that it's working, signs we need to take a break or move on. Besides the author of award-winning poetry books, Katerina Stoykova is the senior editor of Accents publishing, where she has selected, edited, and published over 80 poetry books.
