Part of Global Entrepreneurship Week and produced by theLAB, Fish Tank: Emerging Entrepreneurs in the Arts is a pitch competition that features UK arts administration students who have bold ideas for a better future in the arts, and are ready to jump in the tank and share them with you. Project concepts for new arts-based organizations include a creative skills mentorship program for pediatric cancer patients; an all-in-one app for planning an evening of arts, dining, and entertainment; and an arts festival that fosters rural community growth, to name a few.

Competitors will be judged on the feasibility and sustainability of their projects by esteemed business owners and arts professionals featuring Dacquiri Baptiste, Vice President & COO of Orpheum Theatre Group in Memphis; Sal Sanchez, owner of A Cup of Common Wealth, Chocolate Holler, and Magic Beans Coffee Roasters in Lexington; and Geri Maschio, founder and first director of the arts administration program at UK. Awesome, Inc Fellowship Director and UK Arts Administration Entrepreneur in Residence, Keith McMunn, will serve as the emcee.

Back by popular demand, there will be an audience choice winner (of bragging rights) again this year. Register for your free ticket so you can vote for your favorite pitch.

This event would not be possible without the generous support of University of Kentucky College of Fine Arts, UK Department of Arts Administration, and Gaines Center for the Humanities.
